The Next Adventure

Last week was ruff! Pun totally intended :)

I had a difficult time trying to deciding what I wanted to include in my Community Norms assignment. Once I finally started writing, I found that five pages was really not long enough! (It seemed most of my classmates were having similar issues) This was also the first graduate-level paper I have submitted, I am excited and nervous! But after a very stressful week, my husband and I took off on a mini-vacation to Garmisch, Germany.

Chair lift up the mountain.  Coaster down the mountain!

So here I sit, in my hotel room, after going up a mountain on a chair lift, and back down on a coaster, which was a blast! I am thinking ahead to the next project, Knowledge Sharing/Tracking. I have two ideas about what I will collect, curate, and share:

1) Resources for math resources for over the summer, specifically at the elementary and middle school level. I think this will be helpful to students and parents, due to the craziness of school over the last couple of months.

2.) Resiliency, growth mindset, and mindfulness activities for parents to do with their elementary to middle school children. Again, the last few months have been intense, these types of activities are something that would be useful to children now, and in their future.

*Before typing out this post, I really had no idea of what direction I wanted to take this project, but writing things out helps to make things clear!*

  1. Jodie! Adorable phrase at the top! Dogs truly make a post:) They always make me smile. That is so neat you went to Germany! Being able to blog about your trip and thinking about the next assignment is very cool to be able to do all on a blog. I am really enjoying my blog as well! I do want to continue with it after the class is over. I hope you truly enjoyed your mini-vacation!

  2. That sounds like a great mini vacation.
I think that your students and parents will really appreciate that. My son's first grade teacher has been meeting and doing activities with them. He has enjoyed it a lot and I am grateful for the distraction.
